The 58-year-old superintendent of a Bronx building was shot in the face and killed late Thursday night, leaving residents upset, but not surprised.
The shooting took place outside an apartment building at 921 E. 226th St. Neighbors say they heard what could have been a fight going on, then a gunshot.
The victim was taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where he later died. Residents say he was a good man who could often be seen picking trash up along the street. Investigators are now searching the area for clues.
Neighbors say although they are upset by the man's death, they've unfortunately become all too used to the violence. According to residents, the death marks the street's second homicide in four months.
