Administrators in the William Floyd School District will soon be bringing home bigger paychecks and some taxpayers say they?ve had it. Despite the fact that the district is at the center of a corruption probe, all administrators will be given a 4 percent raise as part of a previously signed contract. This comes just two weeks after residents approved the budget, which was initially voted down. Legislator Kate Browning (WF?Shirley) says even if the raises are contractual, the district should have made a bigger effort to publicize the raises before the recent budget vote. District officials, however, say the raises are currently in line with the 12-month average of the Consumer Price Index. William Floyd is just one of 70 districts having its records scrutinized by the Suffolk County District Attorney.
