Police say the wife of the 1800mattress.com founder was killed by her own son in Searingtown.
The public relations firm representing 1800mattress.com has identified the victim as 65-year-old Kay Barragan, the wife of the company?s founder. According to Steinreich Communications LLC, Barragan?s body was discovered by a handyman after 7 a.m. at 33 Sunset Drive.
According to police, Barragan?s son, Eduardo, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
The body was found at the bottom of a flight of steps, the firm says. The company also says Barragan was home alone at the time the body was found.
Police would not give other details about how she was found or might have died, saying it?s an active investigation.
Authorities say they will know more information once the medical examiner completes the autopsy.
