Police arrested a Westbury man Friday for allegedly selling fireworks to teenagers ahead of the Fourth of July.
Police say they received information that 45-year-old Kevin Wilkins was peddling pyrotechnics from his aunt's house on Third Avenue in New Cassel. When plainclothes officers arrived at the house Friday evening, they saw several teenagers leaving the residence with plastic bags that apparently contained fireworks, police say.
Authorities say they seized about $500 worth of fireworks from the house.
Wilkins has been charged with six counts of endangering the welfare of a child and three counts of dealing with pyrotechnics.
