A Hamptons landlord has been sentenced to home confinement for threatening her renters.

Prosecutors say Sheila Friedman tried to intimidate tenants of her home on Dune Road in West Hampton when they asked for the return of their security deposits.

Instead of sending back the deposits, renters say the 75-year-old landlord sent envelopes filled with rat feces and metal shavings.

The judge decided against sentencing Friedman to prison due to her age and medical issues.
