A 76-year-old West Babylon woman is accused of shooting a man in the face with a flare gun.
Suffolk County police say that Kathleen Schuman got into an altercation with a 67-year-old man whom she knew. The incident happened around 5:45 p.m. Monday on the 400 block of Wyandanch Avenue.
Police say that the man was taken to the hospital for treatment and is expected to be OK.
Schumann was charged with assault in the second degree. She is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday.
