The West Babylon School Board voted Tuesday to close Forest Avenue Elementary School.

The five elementary schools in the West Babylon Union Free School District will now be consolidated to four.

The district previously said that renting out Forest Avenue Elementary School could generate as much as $880,000.

As previously reported, a group hired by the district to study the situation recommended closing Forest Avenue Elementary School because it has the fewest students of any district school north of Sunrise Highway.
