A man was arrested for fleeing a car meet-up in Melville.

The meet-up was in a parking lot on the South Service Road around 9:30 p.m. Thursday, according to Suffolk police.

When they drove into the lot one of the drivers sped off at a high rate of speed, police say.

An officer caught up to the vehicle and arrested the driver, Michael Walter, 23, of West Babylon.

Walter’s vehicle was seized after being charged with fleeing an officer and reckless driving.

He was also found to have a device to block and unblock the rear license plate.
