Officials say a West Babylon man has been charged with two counts of animal cruelty for abusing a puppy.

The SPCA says Nicholas Serrano threw this 3-month-old dog across his yard.

According to officials, the dog cried out when she hit her head and laid there before limping off.

Serrano is also accused of pinning the puppy to the ground with his hand over her throat.

Serrano is due in court next month.
