Temperatures have risen a bit today, providing a break from the frigid cold that was over the area all week, but snow has once again arrived on Long Island.
News 12 meteorologists say flurries and snowshowers are expected this afternoon into the evening. A coating to 2 inches of snow is possible, with the higher amounts expected along the North Shore, where it will be slightly colder.
The high temperature will be about 37 degrees, and the snow will taper off by about 8 p.m.
It will be windy today, with 20 to 25 mph winds and gusts up to 35 mph.
Drivers are advised to watch out for reduced visibility on the roads because of blowing snow.
