Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Sam Augeri says temperatures and humidity are on the rise with scattered showers through the weekend.
High pressure and dry air north of Long Island has been suppressing a storm and rain to our south. A warm and humid pattern is building in the next few days with the chance of scattered showers and storms but most of the time it will be dry.
Daytime highs will be in the upper 70s to near 80 with lows in the mid 60s. Any showers and storms that arrive with this type of weather have the potential to bring heavy rainfall and localized flooding. Right now it looks like the best threat for this type of weather is to our west in NJ.
OVERNIGHT: Mostly cloudy and mild with lows near 63. Chance for a few showers and patchy fog. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Sunrise: 5:22
FRIDAY: Partly sunny to mostly cloudy and humid. Chance for a few showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Warmer with highs near 76. Cloudy with patchy fog and a few showers at night. Lows near 65. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Sunset: 8:28
SATURDAY: Partly sunny, warm, and humid. Chance for scattered showers and storms, mainly late in the day. Highs near 78. Lows near 66.
SUNDAY: Partly sunny, warm, and humid. Chance for scattered showers and storms, mainly late in the day. Highs near 80. Lows near 65.
MONDAY: Partly sunny with the chance of pop up showers and storms. Warm and humid with highs near 81. Lows near 65.
TUESDAY: Partly sunny with the chance for a few showers. Highs near 76. Lows near 64.
