Long Island's South Shore beaches are seeing an abundant number of marine life this summer due to the warming waters - including sunfish, seahorses and schools of fish.
Sea surface temperatures have been running about 2 degrees above normal around Long Island.
Persistent southerly winds have also been pushing water toward Long Island with upwelling and phytoplankton blooms.
This means we have more nutrients and life in the water - perhaps attracting all the recent sea life we've been enjoying.
Thanks to Mike Busch of Great South Bay Images for sharing some of his wonderful photos.
As always, be safe in the water and enjoy the beautiful sights of summer.
