Nassau and Suffolk counties are offering emergency relief for anyone who needs respite from the dangerously cold temperatures.
Nassau County has activated its warm bed program for homeless individuals and families. The county's Emergency Shelter Relief Program is open seven days a week. Call 1-866-WARM-BED.
In Suffolk, those in need can contact the county Department of Social Services Emergency Services Unit. Their number is 631-854-9100.
