Walt Whitman bicentennial postal stamp released

Long Island poet Walt Whitman will be honored with the release of a bicentennial U.S. postal stamp.

Long Island poet Walt Whitman is being honored with the release of a bicentennial U.S. postal stamp.
The U.S. Postal Service unveiled the Walt Whitman stamp at Witman's home in Huntington on Thursday. 
The stamp can also be found at any post office starting Thursday.
Walt Whitman was considered by many to be the father of modern poetry and was known for his free verse writing. 
The commemorative stamps cost 85 cents and $17 for a pack of 20.
