The West Babylon woman accused of running her husband over with an SUV has pleaded not guilty to charges in his death.
Maureen Hines, 45, was picked up for a DUI in New Jersey nine hours after she allegedly struck and killed Dennis Durnin at their home last week. According to police, she had twice the legal amount of alcohol in her system.
Police say the woman hit her husband as he approached the car. She allegedly left the scene before authorities arrived.
Durnin died after being taken to a hospital for medical attention.
As she left the courthouse Monday, Hines was heard muttering "it's disgusting."
Hines is being held on $300,000 cash bail or $600,000 bond. She is due back in court on Friday.
