Over a dozen volunteers spent their morning at Van Cortlandt Park picking up after Fourth of July partiers who left trash around the park.

The Van Cortlandt Park Alliance had trash pickers at the ready for the volunteers on Wednesday, many of whom have helped clean up this park in the past. They say they found everything from food to confetti and bottles.

Volunteers say that the park has become increasingly cleaner, and that they’ve gone from having to do weekly cleanups to only after big holiday celebrations.
