Officials say because of the violence in Egypt, Americans could start paying more for gas.
On Long Island, in the past month the price of regular has dropped from $3.97 to about $3.90 a gallon. However, the deadly clashes in Egypt have crude oil prices rising today.
Egypt is not a major oil exporter, but it controls the Suez Canal.
There are fears the violence in Egypt could affect that major trade route leading ultimately to us paying more at the pump.
