A local organization held a vigil for murder victims and their families Sunday in Jericho.
The 41st annual vigil was hosted by the Long Island New York metro area’s Parents and other Survivors of Murdered Victims Outreach.
Over 600 names of murder victims from Long Island and New York City were read out loud during the event at the Milleridge Inn.
Organizers say the purpose of the vigil was to remember the victims, support their families and fight for their rights.
