Community members held a candlelight vigil Wednesday to remember a New Hyde Park teen who died after a go-kart accident in Florida.
Leah Kuczinski, 16, got into a go-kart crash at the Palm Beach International Raceway two days before her Sweet 16.
Her family and friends gathered at New Hyde Park Memorial High School to celebrate her life. Her favorite singer, Hailee Steinfeld, also attended the vigil.
"Leah was the most beautiful and kind person someone would ever meet," said Leah Lalwani. "She always made everyone feel included and a part."
"If someone looked up angel, they'd find a picture of her," added John Kessler.
The principal says that grief counselors will be available for students and that Leah's memorial inside the school will stay up through the end of the week.
A GoFundMe page in honor of Kuczinski has already raised more than $85,000.
