Community, religious and legislative leaders held a vigil Wednesday night for a Brentwood teen who was shot while playing basketball June 16.
Family members and friends say they hope police will increase security presence at local parks to prevent future violence. Authorities are still searching for the suspect who shot 13-year-old Wilson Batista, Jr. in the head. Wilson remains hospitalized with pieces of the bullet that entered his eye in his brain.
His parents and neighbors handed out leaflets with information about the shooting, hoping community members will contact police with tips.
