A Long Island war hero received a happy homecoming Sunday.
U.S. Marine Corporal Kevin Vaughan is now living in his new mortgage-free house in North Merrick.
Vaughan lost one of his legs while fighting in Afghanistan. The organization, "Building Homes for Heroes" constructed this house so that Vaughan will have an easier time getting around.
"You meet these people and they're building the house. They have so much passion, but they're out there every day, skipping work, not going home to their family and they're building, it's unreal," says Cpl. Vaughan. "You don't hear things like that. I will forever be grateful for that."
