Homeowners on Long Island say gangs of Grinches have been attacking holiday displays on their lawns.
Ken Osman, of West Babylon, has surveillance video of a group of young men attacking his decorations Tuesday night. The video shows the group wait until the coast is clear and then run out to attack the display. They were gone in a matter of seconds but the damage was done. Neighbors of Osman told News 12 they were also hit on the same night.
“That's all it was about was pure damage,” says Osman. “The fact that I have surveillance cameras, the fact that the lights were on when this took place didn’t seem to matter to these kids at all .”
Osman posted his video on a community Facebook page and says people immediately reach out to him, some saying the same thing happened to them. Video from a home in Farmingdale shows a group of young men exiting a car and then tackling inflatable decorations. That group even stabbed one of the decorations.
Nassau and Suffolk police say they are aware of the incidents and investigating.
