A Long Island chiropractor is accused of sexually abusing a female patient.
Police arrested 48-year-old Douglas Dukofsky at his Merrick home Monday morning. According to investigators, Dukofsky touched a 42-year-old woman without her consent during an appointment Friday night.
Back in 2013, Dukofsky faced similar charges after another patient accused him of inappropriate touching. The Nassau District Attorney's Office says it cannot comment because the 2013 case is sealed.
At his arraignment Monday, the judge released Dukofsky and ordered him to return at a future date.
A neighbor told News 12 that she's also one of Dukofsky's patients. "I went to him many times as my chiropractor, he didn't do anything inappropriate whatsoever," she tells News 12. "The wife says he keeps getting set up, so I don't know what that's all about. They're like, good people."
No one answered the door Monday at Dukofsky's home, and his Valley Stream office remained closed.
News 12 left a message seeking comment with his attorney.
