Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Sam Augeri says expect the chance for rain is likely starting Thursday and through the weekend.
WHAT'S NEW: Rain arrives overnight with a period of moderate to heavy rain between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m. for much of Long Island during the morning commute. There could be some minor local street flooding and certainly a wet start to the day. On-and-off showers continue through the afternoon.
WHAT'S NEXT: Showers and storms arrive Friday with more of a warm and humid feel. Showers will be scattered in nature and the main threat with any storms from Friday through the weekend will be locally heavy rainfall. Although not a washout, there is a chance for rain in the forecast every day across the 10-day.
