United Airlines has announced a new boarding policy in an effort to make boarding a plane more efficient.
The airline announced that starting on Oct. 26, people with window seats in the economy section will board first. This will be followed by those with middle seats and finally those with aisle seats.
United says it is similar to a system it had in place until 2017, but with more nuances.
The new process allows pre-boarding, award tier and higher-seat class customers to go first. "Basic economy" passengers board last.
