A Uniondale man is facing murder charges, accused in a crash that killed a teenage girl in New York City, according to the NYPD.

Detectives say Edwin Cruz Gomez struck 16-year-old Jhoanny Gomez-Alvarez along with a 32-year-old woman on Saturday morning at Roosevelt Avenue and Benham Street in Queens.

The girl died at the scene, and the woman was taken to the hospital.

Investigators say Gomez then fled the scene, hitting a parked car on the way out. He was arrested Saturday afternoon.

Cruz Gomez faces a slew of charges including murder, driving while intoxicated and vehicular manslaughter.
