Jason Candle has been named as the next UConn football head coach.

Candle, who served the last 10 years as head coach at the University of Toledo, will replace Jim Mora, who recently accepted a coaching position at Colorado State.

UConn and Candle have agreed to a six-year deal through the 2031 season.

The hire will be made official at a news conference on Monday.

"We are thrilled to welcome Jason Candle as the next head coach of UConn Football," said director of athletics David Benedict. "Jason's track record speaks for itself—he is the winningest coach in Toledo history with 81 victories, two MAC Championships, and a program that has consistently competed at the highest level."

Candle said in a statement that UConn has "all the ingredients for success."

"I look forward to building on the incredible momentum here and developing a program that builds young men of character and makes our fans and alumni proud," says Candle.
