Two people were found dead following an early-morning house fire in Hempstead.

The first 911 calls reporting the fire at 45 Sycamore Avenue came in at 1:28 a.m., according to the Nassau County Fire Marshal’s Office.

Ten fire departments responded, sending 75 firefighters to the scene. Crews were able to bring the blaze under control within two hours.

Fire officials say the two victims were discovered inside the home during firefighting operations.

The house suffered extensive damage, leading to a partial collapse of the structure.

Officials say the property was vacant and had been boarded up from a previous fire.

The Village of Hempstead Building Department responded to assess the damage and secure the site.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
