2 Brooklyn high schools receive shooting threats
The two schools, Cristo Ray Brooklyn High School and Brooklyn Prospect High School, each got phone calls within minutes of each other.

The NYPD says two Brooklyn high schools received nearly identical shooting threats minutes apart Monday morning.
Police say an unknown individual called Brooklyn Prospect High School and threatened to “shoot up” the building at 8:13 a.m.
Just two minutes later, Cristo Rey Brooklyn High School received the same call.
Michael Motyl, president of Cristo Rey Brooklyn High School, told News 12 the school went into a brief lockdown out of caution but quickly resumed normal operations.
Parents told News 12 the school communicated the threat clearly, and students were dismissed as usual Tuesday afternoon.
Community members said they reject the possibility of a school shooting happening in the city, let alone their own neighborhood.
“That could be devastating for the school, the children and the parents, even for the community,” one neighbor said. “I don't think that's going to happen. We gonna pray.”
Motyl also said the school takes threats seriously and works to prepare students for the unexpected.
