Kids in Roslyn got a visit from an aviation pioneer who helped break down racial barriers.
Lt. Col. Ed Monroe, a Tuskegee Airman, spoke to children at the Buckley Country Day School during their Black History Month celebration.
The Freeport resident said the Airmen had a lot to be discouraged about, but that didn't stop them from protecting Americans against the enemy during the 1940s.
