The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is stepping up to ensure all Suffolk County first responders are safe while working during the pandemic.
Rep. Lee Zeldin says the foundation donated more than 80,000 pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) to the county.
The charity was founded to honor firefighter Stephen Siller, who sacrificed his life to save others on Sept. 11, 2001.
The Suffolk County Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services will distribute the masks, gowns, face shields and hand sanitizer to EMS and fire departments.
