The TSA released new numbers Monday that show more than 1 million people went through U.S. airports the day after Christmas.
The news comes as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention urges all Americans to stay home.
News 12 was at MacArthur Airport Sunday, and it was buzzing with activity as people came home from holiday celebrations.
Anyone traveling right now will be subject to testing and quarantine protocols. Before returning to New York, they will have to test negative for coronavirus. Then, they will need to quarantine and test negative again on the fourth day back.
