Trooper struck by car while making arrest on parkway

A state trooper was struck by a car while trying to make an arrest on the Southern State Parkway.
It happened Sunday morning near Exit 14 in North Valley Stream. Officials say the incident began with a pursuit around 2 a.m.
News 12 is told two troopers were trying to cuff a Brentwood man when two uninvolved vehicles got into a fender bender.
One of those vehicles ended up striking a trooper.
The trooper was not seriously injured.
The parkway was closed in the area for several  hours but has since been reopened.
