Opening statements were heard Thursday in the trial of a teen accused of driving high on drugs and killing four friends.
Joseph Beer, of Queens, is accused of driving high on marijuana and speeding with a learner's permit when he crashed on the Southern State Parkway in Lakeview in 2012.
As News 12 has reported, the car split in half, killing four of his friends.
Beer faces 25 years to life in prison, if convicted.
