Travel conditions improve for holiday

The improving weather should make it easier for Long Islanders to head out the parade today.  However, meteorologists say snowy roads and slippery conditions should be expected north of Long Island.

The improving weather should make it easier for Long Islanders to head out the parade today. 
However, meteorologists say snowy roads and slippery conditions should be expected north of Long Island. 
Parts of New England could see up to 18 inches of snow.
Officials are warning travelers that there are a few hundred cancellations at airports across the United States. 
Some travelers are still waiting to catch a flight home after yesterday's snow and rain canceled over 700 flights. 
There are 17 extra LIRR trains if you're heading to the Thanksgiving Day Parade. The trains include six additional westbound trains in the morning and 11 in the afternoon.

 

Trains are on a holiday schedule today.
