Town of Oyster Bay looks to buy properties near Hicksville train station for public parking

The Town of Oyster Bay is looking to buy four properties near the Hicksville train station through eminent domain to try and convert the area into public parking.
Eminent domain is a government power that takes private property for public use.
The move is part of an effort to revitalize the downtown.
In a statement to News 12, Town Supervisor Jospeh Saladino says “Tremendous financial investments in Hicksville are underway and these improvements will benefit residents and the economy for generations to come.”
