There's a vote tonight on whether to allow dogs at Heckscher Park in Huntington.

The proposal would allow leashed dogs at the downtown park.

The town banned the dogs at the park after seniors at a local senior center complained about dogs on the park's narrow paths.

A petition in favor of allowing the dogs has already generated over 1,500 signatures.

The Huntington Town Board meeting is at 7 p.m.
