The Town of Hempstead said goodbye to Town Councilman Chris Carini during funeral services this morning.

The 49-year-old died last week while visiting family in Florida.

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman called Carini a good friend who will be missed by all.

“He was an outspoken person in favor of all good things in his district. The town and county were a better place because of Chris Carini,” said Blakeman.

Carini is survived by his wife and two children.
