The Town of East Hampton says they plan to appeal a state Supreme Court ruling on the East Hampton Airport.

A judge this month found the town in contempt for violating a temporary restraining order and fined them $250,000. The restraining order was issued last year.

The order barred the town from turning the airport into a private facility or from implementing new flight restrictions.

The town says it was taking action to limit airport noise, but that plan is facing legal challenges.
