There is outrage this morning over a Town of Babylon employee's online attack towards a young Long Islander.
Video of Lindenhurst High School class of 2017 salutatorian Yasmin Zohny was shared on the school's Facebook page yesterday.
That is when user Andrew Vita posted a vile hate speech toward Zohny, who is Muslim. Vita is a Babylon Public Works employee.
Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer then posted on Facebook to condemn the hate-filled posts.
Schaffer says Vita will face punishment, including sensitivity training.
Meanwhile, Schaffer offered Zohny a paid internship with the town.
