No new sheriff in town: Suffolk race too close to call

The race for Suffolk County sheriff remains in limbo due to a razor-thin margin of votes.
Roughly 1,300 votes separate Democrat Errol Toulon and Republican Lawrence Zacarese.
Toulon had a slim lead on Tuesday night. He told News 12 Long Island that his first priorities as sheriff will be gang violence, the opioid crisis and properly preparing inmates to rejoin society.
There are still thousands of absentee ballots to be counted, according to the Suffolk GOP.
