Hundreds of people gathered in Eisenhower Park Saturday to participate in the "Santa Con Run and Roll for Kids" race.
The Christmas-themed 5K race benefited the League of Yes, a non-competitive baseball group for people with disabilities.
"We're proving to people that just because you have a disability or special need doesn't mean you can't do a sport," said Ricard Corral.
The amputee runner has participated in more than 100 races and won 66 medals.
Also in attendance was St. John's University's Pi Kappa Psi who brought a $1,000 check for League of Yes.
Many of the runners were dressed as elves, Santa Claus and other holiday-themed characters.
