One person was seriously injured in a three-car crash in Smithtown on Saturday morning.

The crash happened just before 10 a.m. at the intersection of Route 347 and Route 111, according to the Smithtown Fire Department.

Firefighters said at least one person was trapped inside a vehicle following the collision. Emergency crews worked to free the victim.

All three people involved in the crash were transported to a hospital for treatment.

Officials said one of the victims suffered serious injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
