Two thieves have targeted nearly a dozen unlocked cars in Massapequa Park, police say.
Jennifer Bartalini, of Massapequa Park, says she's had her car broken into several times in the middle of the night.
"I can see things were rummaged in the glove box," she says. "It's very nerve-wracking to know that someone can be snooping in your personal belongings."
Investigators say items were stolen from a total of 10 cars earlier in the week in the same neighborhood.
Surveillance video shows the suspects rummaging through a white Mercedes, with one of them appearing to use a cellphone as a flashlight.
The thefts happened between 8:30 p.m. Sunday and 4:45 a.m. Monday.
The two male suspects were spotted riding bikes and breaking into cars on Broadway and Violet, Rose and Balchen streets. They were wearing masks, hooded sweatshirts and latex gloves. Stolen items include gas cards, sunglasses and personal papers.
In each case, police say the thieves broke into vehicles whose doors were left unlocked.
Police ask anyone with information about the break-ins to call Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
