Police are searching for a woman who they say snatched UPS packages from outside a home in Middle Island.

Surveillance video captured the act. Police say the female suspect stole Amazon.com packages containing smartphone products and a camping knife from a house on Quarrystone Lane. They say it appears that the suspect was following a UPS truck looking for packages to steal.

According to investigators, the UPS driver left just moments before the woman acted.

Police describe the suspect as a white woman who was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt reading "White Plains New York" at the time. They say she fled the scene in a white SUV.
