As national and local elections remain hanging in the balance, many people are looking for ways to put their minds at ease.
News 12 asked shoppers on Long Island if they are stressed out over the delayed election results. Some said they were holding up just fine.
"I just try and go about my day in a positive way," one shopper said.
Another person said, "I'm just letting it ride right now, not even looking at it because it keeps changing every minute. What will be, will be."
But another said, "I am definitely very stressed over it, my mom is stressed over it, we are all talking about it."
Many say the "chronic crisis" -- between the coronavirus, economic concerns and the presidential election -- has pushed them over the edge on stress levels.
Therapists who News 12 spoke to say that if you're feeling overwhelmed, you are not alone. Experts say tips to stay calm include surrounding yourself with positive people, taking time away from stressful situations and limiting social media use.
"There is something to be said about talking about it over and over, our brains are not wired to handle all that," says Barbara Posillico.
Other tips suggested by health care providers include moving your body, meditating, choosing healthy food and getting plenty of rest.
