A new exhibit at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden features 52 trees from around the world.
The Power of Trees exhibit is designed to teach people about the importance of trees and the key role they play in everyday communities.
Visitors will encounter 13 different signs throughout the garden that houses a collection of trees. Each of the signs has a QR code providing more information on the trees.
Kate Fermoile, director of interpretation and exhibitions at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, hopes to spark a further appreciation for trees in New Yorkers.
"I can't imagine New York City without these trees," Fermoile. "The trees do so much to benefit us, not just the air that we breathe, but also to cool us down."
The garden is ten degrees cooler than outside, making it a place to relax and observe. Sculptures from local artists also accompany the exhibit.
The Power of Trees exhibit is open Tuesday through Sunday until Oct. 22. Visitors can attend from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and until 6 p.m. the other days of the week.
