We feel the pinch at the grocery, at the gas station and if you have checked your car insurance bill lately -- you no doubt have felt it there as well.
News 12's consumer reporter Janice Lieberman gives us The Real Deal on how to take a bite out of your bill.
We are paying around $2,000 a year nationally on car insurance. That's up almost 14% according to a study done by Bankrate.
Now is the time to take a look at your policy and make changes that could save you money down the road.
Shop around and get at least three quotes.
Ask for a low mileage discount, if you aren't driving as much anymore.
Think about raising your deductible, especially on an older car.
Insurance can vary depending on where you live, the model and year of the car you own, and if you have a teenage driver on your plan.
Safe driving saves money.
Consider bundling your car insurance with your home or renters insurance to try to get a better deal. Make sure your credit rating is in good standing as that can effect your rate as well.
