Want to impress your gadget lover this holiday season? How about wearing your tech instead of carrying it around? News 12's Andrew Ehinger has the number one hot item this holiday season - smart watches.
According to Caitlyn Horbert, the LG G Watch R allows you to stay connected to the world without burying your face in a phone. The LG G Watch R is Android-powered that allows the wearer to access emails, texts and more from the watch's face.
For a sleek, elegant smart watch, try the Swiss made Withings Activite. It's an activity and sleep tracking watch that communicates with your smartphone. The Activite is strictly an activities tracker though, so you can't access emails or texts.
And for the fitness and tech lover, the perfect watch could be the Basis Peak, which features a heart rate monitor, something Basis officials say most fitness trackers don't have. The Peak also monitors skin temperature, perspiration, activity and sleep. All of the data can be sent to a smartphone app.
Lastly, the Jaybird Reign is a lower-profile activity and sleep tracker. It doesn't feature a big display, and is designed to help serious athletes reach their full potential. The makers say the Jaybird Reign can even tell what sport you're participating in.
The LG G Watch R costs $300. The Withings Activite is approximately $450. And both the Jaybird Reign and Basis Peak cost $200.
