The holiday shopping season is officially underway, and News 12's gadget guru Andrew Ehinger has great gift ideas for all the tech-lovers on your list! He's counting down the top 10 gifts that tech lovers say are hot for the 2018 holiday season. Here are picks four through two.
Pretending to be a kids' favorite hero takes on new meanings with gift No. 4. The Little Bits Avengers Hero Inventor kit is a STEM education tool that lets kids 8 and up learn how electronics work. The Little Bit blocks are magnetic and easily snap together letting kids creativity flow. It costs $150.
At No. 3 is the Owl Car Camera. The camera is always recording and if it detects a problem when you're not there, it alerts your smarphone. As an added bonus, if you see something unusual outside or even inside the car you can say the words "Ok Presto" and the Owl will tag that clip and send it directly to your phone. The camera costs $350.
Imagine traveling to a foreign country and being able to communicate when you don't know the language. That's where gift No. 2 comes in! Pocket Talk can translate 74 different languages. It needs a cellular connection, but the device comes with two years of free world-wide data or it can use Wi-Fi. The translator costs $300.
